Larger than life

We all know most of our best ideas come to us at strange times, be it in the shower, while driving or while sitting at the dinner table eating with our family; rarely do we have the chance to write down these ideas at the given moment. For myself, most of my ideas come to me while I am dreaming, I wake up with a jolt and try to write them down, but I always am waiting for the morning to come so I can share them with my friends and get their inputs. Now, with the use of the blog that is no longer a problem. Being able to log on and blog at any hour of the day or night is one great feature of the blog, and getting feedback from all readers is another great aspect.

People are shy, most people anyway, and thus will not volunteer their thoughts in many face-to-face situations; Blogging gives everyone that opportunity! We can type out our opinions to share with the world, and not fear instant rejection. It also makes getting constructive criticism and differing opinions easier to respond to, no more “word vomit” as I like to call it. Blogging allows us to think before we “speak”, and gives us the opportunity to mean what we say and say what we mean without being too defensive.

  1. Hi Patricia,

I love to see your smiling face, especially since now if we get together we can recognize each other.

You are going to be a special blessing to veterans. They just do not know yet how blessed they are going to be with your sweet smile and smart caring nature. I am sure they would love your dogs too. I wonder if pet therapy is ever used with vet PTSD/TBI?

Great ideas for blog uses. My dreams escape me these days moments after I awake. They are gone before I can become lucid enough to write them down. Perhaps if I make a conscious effort, I can catch them. I have a "dream catcher" hanging above my bed, but it has been off duty lately apparently.

I need to develop a writing habit that seems to have slipped away from my daily routines.

  2. Hi Patricia, i am so glad they will have a great person in the veterans hospital to help out with them guys. We have treated some in our cancer center and you can learn alot from watching and listening to them tell the tails. My grandfather was in 2 wars and he could tell a story. They need someone very compassiont for them and i think you will do a great job. Good luck in your career.

  3. Hello Patricia, it is so nice to meet you. Your smile makes you look as though you are sitting on top of the world. Using the blog is fairly new to me and I have faced some challenges that have really cost me. But hopefully I will master posting my blog before it is too late. Whenever I post a blog, it goes to every where but my web page. I am curious to know whether this post will be posted on your blog.

  4. Hi Ladies,
Any ideas how to reply individually to each post?

Anyway, I would like to say Thank you to all of you for your happy comments! The picture I posted of myself is just a part of a larger picture - I am going to post a new blog in a few minutes which will (hopefully) include the complete picture, then the mystery of the smile should be solved!
Nancy, I am sure that pet therapy is used in PTSD and TBI; but I am also pretty positive that none of my three monsters would be of any help. LOL! My chocolate lab, Mana is afraid of everything, which I have no idea why this is. She was never abused, I got her when she was 5 1/2 weeks old and have spoiled her since. My black lab, Pika has what can best be described as the "Napoleon Syndrome", he is a little guy, but thinks hes a bull mastiff. Finally, we have Rookie, a long haired German Shepard...need I say more?!

Colette, I love to listen to peoples life stories. There are so many things we take for granted today, and it really sums up how lucky we are when you can here the tales of the past.

Diane, your reply made it to where it should be! I am sure you will be an expert at this in no time. I do feel like I am on top of the world. I just turned 34 and have finally grown up! I am ready to make something of my life!

  5. Hi Patricia,
I love your blog. You are right in that with the blog we can jot ideas or feelings down whenever we want. Having never had a blog before I forget that wwe have one hooked up to class. I get so many things going in my head and worry that I will forget to do something for my classes, then I forget about this blog project.
